The first time I shot a wedding was the first time I shot a wedding. I’ve used that quote before but finally it applies to an actual wedding! I was so honored to shoot my friend Taylor’s civil service at the Nashville Symphony. Taylor and her now husband Derek, had their full blown wedding just this past weekend (congrats you two!), but they wanted to be legally married before the year was out. To make the day a little more special than just a few “dos” they decided to have the quick, not even 5 min, ceremony at the Nashville Symphony House. It was so sweet to see friends make something that could have been so casual into another stunning moment in their lives. They were a blast to shoot and I am so happy to call them my friends.
This was my very first nuptial behind the camera. Safe to say I was nervous to produce some quality work them. Taking on someone’s special day is a lot of pressure that is for sure. Although I can say I had the advantage of Taylor’s skills as a model and art detailed eye to help me along. I was so pleased when I finally sat down to edit that this what came out of less than hour of shooting and with just the florescent lights inside of the building. Of course the Nashville winter weather decided to pour down rain. I guess what I learned from this experience once again, is that even if you’re nervous of the pressure, you should always give it a go. It will turn out better than you expected. I’ve learned that things may not turn out how you thought they might but everything works out in the end.
All that being said, I am available to shoot engagements, elopements and weddings! Even if you just feel like having a shoot for yourself or with the love of your life for fun, I am here to give you some beautiful art to add to your memories.
